Quick and fun, same as the first. Collins still employs cliche phrases, and scatters commas onto the page in shotgun style, and every misuse of “literally” stands out like Katniss on the beach. But I’m getting over it. She’s a superb plotter instead of an original writer, and some people dig that. And even though Catching Fire suffers from Two Towers syndrome, that’s to be expected in a sci-fi trilogy. I jumped into the third book right away, which I suppose shows that the set-up was provocative enough.

Alright, let’s see if I can have a good time all the way through to the end…
