other peoples trades

Primo Levi is a great read because he is a great writer because he is great at life. What I mean is that he is the type of person interested in practically everything around him, and in this book he tackles various topics to just write about how they fascinate him. There are entries on his house, animals & insects, lots on chemistry, chess, school, philosophy, and of course writing. A true polymath, his enthusiasm is almost tangible. We need more people like him who write to simply communicate the joy of learning about the world around us.
