Wow. This is a good series. I’m definitely going to seek out the ones from previous years. From new dictionary words to comics to short stories to dangerous ideas, this book has something for everybody. Very easy to pick up, read a small section, and put down again, or just read cover to cover. I wanted to read something current, and this is exactly what I was looking for. Come on, let the high schoolers tell you what’s up.
Note: Everything in here is good except for the final installment by Joy Williams. Her extremely shaky holier-than-thou argument is what turns people away from reading. If you give this book as a gift I would advise taking some scissors to this last section, because it’s a terrible note to end on.
